SK Battery America — 300-Unit VRF Deployment

Client: SK Battery America, Inc. | Location: Commerce, GA | Industry: Battery Manufacturing | Service: Installation & Commissioning

Century Mechanical delivered a multi-year VRF installation for SK Battery America’s Commerce, GA campus, bringing precision climate control to one of Georgia’s largest EV battery manufacturing operations.

As SK Battery America scaled its Georgia footprint, the facility required a zoned, high-reliability HVAC system capable of maintaining tight temperature and humidity tolerances across multiple production and support buildings — conditions critical to battery cell manufacturing.

Our team designed and installed a Daikin and Samsung VRF system totaling roughly 300 indoor units, involving multi-branch refrigerant piping, electronic expansion valve calibration, and zone-based control programming across the site. In a related scope, Century Mechanical also installed a precision HVAC system for the facility’s server room, supporting mission-critical uptime requirements.

The project was executed in phases alongside SK Battery America’s own construction timeline, requiring close coordination with multiple trades and a disciplined sequencing approach to keep the broader campus build on schedule.

Century Mechanical continues to support SK Battery America’s HVAC systems today, reflecting the long-term trust built through precise execution on one of the region’s most demanding industrial builds. Recent and in-progress work at the site includes a server room precision air conditioning unit addition, an LG DOAS installation, and an industrial steam coil replacement.
